Anna & Daniel: Real Bride Story

We caught up with Anna & Daniel to hear all about their wedding and how they met and fell in love. Anna told us their story;

Daniel was a victim of a terrible acid attack. He had to spend 6 months in hospital recovering, then he was admitted to a residential care home, where I was working as a care support worker. The more time we spent with each other, the more feelings we developed for each other. We would always chat and Daniel would make lots of jokes and try to make me laugh. Eventually we fell in love and decided to start our life together. Daniel proposed me when we went to visit his parents in Romania. We were walking in the city centre, he stopped walking and he said to me; “Anna, I don`t want you to be my girlfriend anymore… please, be my wife.

As Daniel became blind after the acid attack, he couldn’t go to the shop alone to get a ring by himself. After I said yes, he asked me to find a jewellery shop and choose a ring.

We decided to get married in Romania because Daniel has a big family back home and we wanted to make sure every family member could be there on our wedding. The weddings in Romania are also much more affordable. We had our wedding in a German castle style venue called Castel Royal. We loved the venue as they had a beautiful garden which was perfect for wedding pictures,  they also had rooms and apartments so everyone could stay. We had the wedding ceremony in a Catholic church. We also christened our 10-month-old son, David after the wedding.

I was following Morilee on social media when I saw a beautiful wedding dress, it was called Paris and is style number 2045. I fell in love with the dress immediately. I was looking for a bridal shop where they have a large stock of Morilee dresses to try on and that’s why I chose to get my dress from La Belle Boutique in Sutton in Ashfield. The shopping experience was amazing, they made me feel special and the staff provided a wonderful service. I tried on couple of Morilee dresses, but when I tried on my Paris I knew this is my dream dress. It made feel like a princess, I loved the way the dress was sparkling, I loved every little detail in the dress.

Our wedding theme colour was gold and we had our wedding invitations, wedding cake, flower bouquet and boutonniere decorated with gold.

We loved the wedding ceremony, when we were announced as husband and wife. It was also lovely to see our families together. My advice to other brides would be to make sure you have someone who is helping you to lead and organise your big day so you don’t forget any details or traditions. Remember, this is the biggest day of your life, you have to enjoy yourself and not to worry about the finer details or things which don’t go to plan. Many people will disagree with your choices such as they don’t like the music, they don’t like seating plan but remember, this is your wedding, not theirs! Do what is best for you.

We forgot to make a plan B, in case it rained and we had planned to have our photos taken in the beautiful gardens, but unfortunately it was raining. When there was a break in the rain we all ran outside and got a few great pictures to capture the day.”

Here are Morilee we were happy to help Anna with the cost of her Morilee gown and our retailer La Belle Boutique also helped out with a discount so that Anna and Daniel could enjoy the wedding of their dreams.
