Emma & Jason: Real Bride Story

We got married at the Raithwaite Estate in Whitby.

Jason and I went out together at school for around a year, then we both went our separate ways for around seven years and we have now been back together six years this August. Childhood sweethearts.

How long were you together before tying the knot?

Jason proposed on New Year’s Eve after we’d been together about a year and a half.

How did he propose?

Jason proposed in London; we were there to celebrate the New Year. We were about the leave the hotel to make our way to a masquerade ball near the Thames. Jason had ordered champagne to the room and after it arrived he got down on one knee and popped the question with such a beautiful unique engagement ring. It really made the New Year extra special and made memories I’ll never forget.

How did you know you had found the perfect dress?

I knew I had found the dress as it was the only dress my mum got emotional about. It just fit like a glove and I felt really special in it.

Tell us about your special day:

We chose a country retreat at Whitby as it was so beautiful with stone buildings and fabulous gardens. Our theme was vintage and rustic combined with blush pink and dove grey colours finished with lace and pearls. Our civil ceremony was at 1pm in the gardens under the gazebo with 45 guests and our dog.

After the ceremony, we had reception drinks nibbles on the terrace with a violinist playing while photos were been taken.

Our wedding breakfast was at 3.30pm starting with the speeches first then while the room was to be changed around the night do we had some photos taken down at the beach at Sandsend. For our night do we had a brilliant DJ, sweet table, prosecco, fish and chips, personalised photo booth, light up dance floor and fireworks to music at 10pm then danced the night away. We had such a wonderful day the weather was beautiful we wish we could relive it all.

If you love Emma’s dress we think you will love our latest designs Rosamund and Rhapsody.
