Hayley & Marc: Real Bride Story
Following a New Year’s Eve proposal, Hayley & Marc planned the perfect fun-filled dray. We caught up with them to hear all about their beautiful wedding
Where was the wedding?
We married at the Holy Trinity church in Sunningdale and then Royal Berkshire hotel, Ascot for the wedding breakfast and evening celebrations.
How did you meet?
We met through friends on a day out and we were friends for about 9 months before we went on a date! We really thought nothing would come of it however we have been inseparable ever since! We moved in together six months later.
How did they propose?
He proposed on NYE going for a walk around all the beautiful woodland area near where we live on the way to our local pub for a couple of NYE drinks before having friends over in the evening. It was meant to be happening in New York in the February but changes at work put the trip in jeopardy so he did it NYE to start the New Year engaged. The wedding was provisionally booked by the 3rd January. I always knew the church I wanted to get married at and we wanted a venue nearby so our guests did not have to travel far between venues.
So tell us about the dress! Did you have an idea of what you were looking for?
I came across Morilee online and fell in love with the dresses and managed to get some appointments for the trunk shows. I attended one trunk show and I fell in love with the Pasha dress (style 2043), however I was only with my mum and dad and not my bridesmaids. I loved the dress so much I paid to have it sent to another appointment I had in a couple of weeks’ time with all of my bridesmaids there as well as I really wanted their opinions! Luckily they all loved it as much as my mum, dad and I. What I loved about the dress was the gorgeous back and train…the train is to die for. I loved the fit and flare as well as the most delicate lace with sparkles…I love sparkles. I had a belt added to it to give it a little bit more of a sparkle and definition around my waist.
How did you find planning the wedding?
The planning was pretty stress free which I was shocked at, it all just seemed to come together really well. We did set a budget which we went over slightly. I didn’t have a theme, I knew I wanted blush pink as my main colour and the bridesmaid dresses to have sequins. My husband and I just wanted it to be a fun day! We had a singer at the drinks reception and wedding breakfast which really was fantastic! For the evening we had a DJ who created a great atmosphere as everybody was singing and dancing.
What was the best bit of your wedding?
The best bit was the church service, it was just the best moment saying our vows and looking around and all our dearest friends and family. I will also mention Lennon, the singer we had during the day, He was absolutely fantastic and created the best atmosphere to kick start off the evening.
Any advice for future brides?
The only advice I would give to other brides is do lots of research, go with your gut and try not to let it take over and get you stressed…it will all come together!
